Ever been in the situation when you come out of an interview and want to kick yourself? Maybe you didn’t nail down the answer to one particular question. Or you thought of a better answer as you left the interview. Don’t knock yourself out – interviews are extremely stressful and it’s not uncommon for people to miss things that they might ordinarily expect to answer.
Of course, there is a value in going over your interview. One valuable post-interview strategy is to make of note of the questions your floundered on, and write out the ideal response. If you do have a better answer to an particular interview question, it’s worth putting down if only to clarify in your mind what you should have said or how you should have better put it.
But I’d take it a step further and blog it. If you are a blogger, and consider yourself something of an expert in your field, it might be worth doing a post on the topic. This would be your way of saying ‘I do know my stuff’. And it would cement in your mind the answer to a question that may well come up again.
